Does the sun set because it is defeated, or because it is making room for a different kind of power? Duel at Sunset captures our moments when the terrestrial and the celestial engage in their eternal negotiation. This work speaks to the friction between the seen and the unseen.

The tiger and the rooster are not enemies but rather a symbol set for the constant cycle of endings and beginnings. The gnarled tree above acts as a bridge between these worlds, its silhouette reaching into a sky that is neither day nor night. It is a ritual of balance where the predator and the prey are joined by the same fading glow.

This artwork is a four layer linocut created through multiple stages of carving and hand pressing. It is consisting 25 limited edition prints.
